Carrie Finkbiner, Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist
Hi my name is Carrie, and I have been a therapist at Family Service Madison since 2021. I have been working with children, families, and organizations for over 20 years to support optimal health and well-being. I earned my graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northwestern University and my undergraduate degree in Behavioral Science and Law from the University of WI-Madison. I am licensed in Wisconsin as a Marriage and Family Therapist and am endorsed as an Infant Mental Health Mentor (IMH-E®) by the Wisconsin Alliance for Infant Mental Health.
I work with parents, young children, couples, adults, and families, and I focus on parenting, preparing for parenthood, child attachment, parental bonding, relationships, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, and trauma. I use a culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, relational approach to support healing, positive change, and growth.
I aim to empower others and to support people in making small shifts of change that are natural, realistic, and can easily be incorporated into their lives. I build off individual and family strengths, values, and traditions to support long term change.
I like to stay curious and foster that same curiosity in others as we try new approaches and ways of thinking or being that support health, wellness, and positive relationships. Finally, I believe in a holistic approach. I consider the whole person, including the mind, body, and relationships to promote well-being.
