Emily Natera, Licensed Professional Counselor
Everyone has their own unique life experiences and challenges, and yet we all have the shared needs of support, compassion, and the ability to make meaning in our lives. Sometimes we need the help of a trained professional to get those needs met. You decide your goals, and we work together to achieve them.
I use a strength-based and solution-focused approach to help people recognize they have the ability to overcome whatever challenges they might be facing. My role is to educate and empower so that my clients are able to make changes to create the life they want. I use a variety of therapeutic interventions, including those from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and mindfulness to create an individualized plan so that you can change your behaviors and your patterns of thinking.
I have experience in working with individuals, families, and groups. I work with adults, teens, and families who are navigating life changes, experiencing anxiety or depression, and those who want to heal from past wounds. I provide psycho-education for parents when there is discord or abuse within a family system. and I also have experience with working with survivors of domestic violence as well as batterers’ intervention treatment. My practice is trauma informed and culturally sensitive. I would be honored to work alongside of you as you create your new path.
