I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been with Family Service Madison since 2000. My primary role with FSM is as the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Director. I earned my Masters Degree in Social work in 1995 and earned my clinical licensure few years later. I tend to utilize a cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, client-centered, resilient building, and acceptance commitment approach in my therapy practice. I work with teens, adults, families and couples.

My practice is primarily seeing clients/couples/families under their EAP benefit addressing issues in a brief therapy model. I believe therapy is a collaborative partnership between therapist and client.  Life can bring challenges and suffering for all of us. Sometimes we cannot avoid these challenges; however, we can develop skills/strategies to help us cope. I believe humans are resilient, and I work to assist clients in connecting with their own resiliency.

My practice also includes working with individuals and groups who have experienced a traumatic event in their personal life and/or on the job. I have provided multiple de-briefing and psychological first aid sessions with those individuals and groups due to a traumatic event, including grief response and coping.

I have considerable experience working with many issues, including depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, substance use, domestic violence, anger management, divorce adjustment and relationship issues.
