My name is Taya (pronouns: she/her), and I am a Psychotherapist at Family Service Madison (FSM).
I obtained my Master’s degree in Social Work with a focus in mental health from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2023.
I have professional experience working in a youth residential treatment center, in-home autism behavior therapy for children and their families, day-treatment for middle school aged kids, as well as individual and group work for both children and adults. I take a systems-based, trauma-informed, person-centered approach with the goal of building upon strengths to create change. I utilize an eclectic therapeutic style with aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (among others) while also offering more structured interventions such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
I am honored to witness and be part of one's journey toward wellness and meaning by creating a collaborative treatment plan and working towards desired goals together.
